Pushing It A Little Too Far!

My boyfriend is really starting to push his luck! I've tolerated his continual tardiness but now it seems to be getting worse. Last thursday we had plans but then he phoned me about an hour before we were due to meet and said he wasnt coming. Thats fine, I hadnt long got home from work and at least he gave me notice. However, last night he really pushed me closer to the edge. He'd texted me that afternoon and said i'll meet you at nine. Fine, thats tons of time to faff with my new hair and pick out a cute outfit. Twenty minutes to nine and he texts me saying he will be twenty mins late. Okay, im running behind anyway as ive stood in the mirror for the last half hour just posing! (something I do all too often!). At twenty to ten, thats twenty minutes after he was meant to be here, texts me and says his car is blocked in and can't do anything till after 10pm when the owner is to return. Fine, whatever was the response. At half ten he shows up and instead of knocking like usual, sits in the car outside and texts me to say he's there! That just topped off the fact that he was an hour and a half late. To be honest Im really getting sick and tired of the continual excuses and tardiness, i dont know how much more I can really take. I do like him but i know he won't change so there is no point trying. This could be his downfall and if it continues in much the same way i'm going to have to really consider the situation. I don't want to break up with him, i do like him but to be honest I dont think I deserve to be treated like this. Patience can only stretch so far! (If you (K) have come across this, I'm sorry that I may have hurt your feelings but I'm only being honest about the situation!). xxxxXXXx

Fringe!

Having a bit of a hair transformation at the moment, so check out my new fringe. I did thing about going for one of those extremely popular sidey-ways fringes but instead settled for a blunt full fringe so I stand out a little. Check it out, I Love it! Though some need a little time to get used to it - Midget! I've also been told I look like Yvette Fielding (Most Haunted) with it! I don't think I do, but what do y'all think?!

Make Mine A Double!

Finished the short read Hell Island by Matthew Reilly last week and again he was on top form. A mere snippet compared to Seven Ancient Wonders but something to pass the time away on the bus journey home from work! Recommend to all as per usual!

Followed that up with '84 Charing cross Road' by HelenHanff - a selection of letters between a New York woman and a book shop in London for twenty years. Not too bad and quite short but a must read for anyone with a bit of bibliophilia!

Vile Victorians - Terry Dreary

To pass a few minutes I read 'Vile Victorians' by Terry Dreary. I remember reading most of the series when I was in Primary school and own only a few of the series. It probably took only an hour to read but I love these sorts of books for children. They really do make history come alive which helps you to remember some of the dull things that happened back long ago. Love it, so i recommend it to all younger readers or adults who just needed something to while away a few minutes, like when your waiting for your laundry to be done! Xxx

The Vesuvius Club - Mark Gatiss

Finished 'The Vesuvius Club' last night and thought it was actually rather brilliant. I really love Victorian/Georgian England and the classic cad/dandy characters, so it was no wonder that this book appealed to me. Follow His Majesty's secret agent Lucifer Box through London and Naples to the heart of Vesuvius, the great volcano. Characters he comes across on his journey are eccentric to say the least - just check out wheelchair-bound Quibble in his study full of books and the lovely Venus in her full purple skirts (but its whats underneath that counts!). Then again Lucifer Box is a character who is indeed full of surprises himself! He is the ultimate cad, someone anyone could aspire to be back then and possibly even in this day and age! Charlie Jackpot gives comic relief and the interactions between him and Lucifer are unmissable.
I recommend it to all, especially men with enquiring minds ;-) (L)

Bloody Trampolines!

I bloody hate trampolines now! Yesturday I was called upon to try my hand at my sister's trampoline (something that I used to do for the County a few years ago!) and of course, mind somewhere else, i did! I lasted only 15 minutes before I staggered off puffing heartily and knees and wrists feeling the burn. This morning I awake to find my knees and wrists have covered. Then moving more I find that I have thrown my back out! Bloody excellent! Now I sit here in quite an uncomfortable position, filled with pain killers. My warning has been laid out, now learn from me! XxxXxx Sympathetic messages are always welcome! Xxx

Vogue Finally Got Here!

Vogue finally arrived today! About bloody time! Will probably spend the rest of the afternoon reading it! Though I don't like the cover. Orange lettering is vile (but then again there are few occasions that orange is actually hot). Also its another bloody celebrity cover. I hate that! If I wanted to read about celebrities I'd pick up the National Enquirer not Vogue. Vogue is for models, not celebrities. Also, since when has Billie Bloody Piper been a serious actress? She did that horrendous new series of Dr Who (something that should have been left alone, but tv channels do what ever they can to make money even when it means destroying a classic!) and a few other things, but I still can't stand her. She dresses like a hobo anyway. Whatever!

Insight Into My World!

Everyone says that their bedroom says alot about the person who lives in it, well I believe that to be quite true! My room as you can see is very me. Its a little OTT, full of things from over the years and a little cluttered (like my mind!). The walls are turquoise, one of my fave colors, with small white polka dots (i love patterns!). There are fashion shots everywhere as Im a bit of a victim and books line most walls. As you know Im a bit of a book freak! So tell me what y'all think! XxxxXx

The Fashion Spot

Its about time I found something to moan about and this is certainly something to moan about. The fashion spot forums that I am a regular visitor to is bloody down again! It seems to be happening more and more these days which is actually rather crap. Theres nothing I like more than spending hours and hours exchanging messages with others about fashion related topics when I should really be writing my psych reports! It seems that everyday for a period of a few hours access is blocked due to 'technical difficulties'. Its beginning to be a bit disheartening! Hopefully it'll be back up and running soon otherwise i'll have nothing interesting to do for the rest of the day! So far its been down for about 2 and half hours to my knowledge (since I logged on to the net) so hopefully it'll be back soon! Im sure Im not the only one whos a bit pissed off about this! Well, now Im gonna cheer myself up a bit by logging into Perez Hilton.
XxxxX Luv Me

The Oscars!

The Oscars were last night and this morning we are being overloaded by all of it! Best and Worst dressed lists are being compiled and E! are already showing repeats of last nights action in case you didnt stay up into the early hours to watch first hand.
Got to congratulate the British winners - Rachel Weisz for best supporting actress in The Constant Gardner and Bestanimated film went to Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Got to say that the best dressed had to go to Reese Witherspoon in her 1955 Vintage Christian Dior dress. Though Nicole Kidman came a close second in a strapless White Balenciaga beaded/embroidered dress. Sandra Bullock had to come third in a blue strapless prom-style dress by Angel Sanchez. Michelle Williams should have thought twice before she chose that ghastly bright yellow dress - her choice in men is much better than her choice in clothes! Jennifer Aniston and Felicity Huffman chose classic black, as did quite a few others (Rachel Weisz, Queen Latifah). Would have liked to see more color though but maybe its not so suitable for the Oscars.
Well got to go and watch the repeat again - its probably going to be the only thing shown in the next week on E! XxxXXxxx

Style Icons

In such a superficial world its no wonder that we come to idolise those beautiful people we are exposed to through magazines, films, tv and other media forms. Young starlets dressed in the latest designer fashions without a care in the world about price or whether it suits their body shape. Its not surprising that we draw some of our best outfit choices from what we've seen a celebrity wear. Gradually you come to follow similar clothing choices and colors of a set selection of people. People you want to dress like, be like. Style Icons so to speak. Some are elegantly classic - Grace Kelly - some are modern - Brittany Murphy - and some are just a shock - Kelly Osbourne. I'm no exception. I have a collection of celebrities I follow and that I have to admit that they influence what I wear quite considerably. So who's on my list of style icons, well lets see:
  • Mischa Barton
  • Lindsay Lohan
  • Lauren Graham
  • The Olsen twins - especially Mary Kate's boho chic
  • The Hiltons - especially Nicky's classier touch
  • Gisele
  • Nicole Richie

These are just to name a few though, there are others for certain moods and styles. I know it may seem that I dont have my own sense of style if Im merely copying someone else, but arent we all copying someone else to some extent? And since when has this ever been a bad thing? If we didn't copy someone else a little bit, clothes retailers would never sell anything more than once and theres only so much uniqueness that can exist without it starting to reappear in some form.

So who inspires your style? I bet that if you asked some of your closest friends they would have the same people too. Everybody has someone they idolise in terms of style so if that means being a sheep to fashion and celebrity, then BAAAAAAAA!
