It's All About The Men This Fall/Winter 2006/7

Hey Guys (and gals that want their ment to be dressed in the finest fabulous creations this Fall/Winter). It was brought to my attention recently that I don't do enough for the fabulous men that check out my World, so Dustin et al this is for you!
With Menswear Spring/Summer '07 about to be shown on the finest catwalks in the finest places (coverage coming as soon as the photos are in), I thought that you'll need to know what you should be wearing this Fall/Winter first!
So what did all those really hot male models show me from the fabulous designers at Hermes, Prada, Gucci and Dior? Well .. .. .

- Tailoring is the biggest focus that ran through all the trends presented. Single breasted jackets are always hot and continue to be but its the double breasted jacket that should be in every man's closet this Fall. The peacoat is the ultimate statement piece. The traditional sport coat has been revived in checked wools and leather-patched flannel and all coat linings should be as bright as possible - like blood red at Gucci. A sleek, tailored leather jacket is also a nice thing to invest in - don't go the rock 'n' roll route though! Try a tan one rather than a black one!
- Colors important for this Fall include all shades of grey - especially charcoal -, black and navy. Neutrals should be cold and frosty but add an earthy shade of berry or amber for a bit of brightness.
- Utiliarian is the way to wear the statement piece - double-breasted peacoat - as well as dungarees and military detailing. Think uniforms and workforce chic.
- Think polar trekking and exploration with the Expedition trend. Think rock climbing, mountaineering and cross-country skiing, so add a padded parka and a fur-trimmed gilet - both with hoods - to your Fall/ Winter wardrobe.
- Collegiate fashions are back! Think Sports team cardigans, rugby shirts and stripes, just don't make it too preppy!
- However the ultimate trend theme this Fall/ Winter is Dandy! Think luxurious velvet frock coats, skinny trousers, silk and satin shirts, brocade waistcoats and an all-black silhouette. Luxury and the sleekest tailoring is the key so spare no expense.

Well, that should look totally hot - I'm totally loving the Dandy trend and can't wait to see some of my lovely guys in black and red crushed velvet!
Y'all better get shopping!

What You Should Be Wearing This Fall/Winter 06

Hey y'all! It's that time of the Summer when we need to be seriously thinking about what we will be wearing from September onwards. With less than two months to piece together your early Fall/Winter basic collection, you need to know what you should be buying and what you should be tossing out or donating toyour local British Lung Cancer Charity shop. So, what are the major trends that we will be following this Fall/Winter? Well ....

- Monochrome is back with a vengence so wear your bold prints and stripes in black and white with pride
- Mix black and white and you get Gray. The color to be seen in this season. All shades and textures go, so wear together. Pleats look hot in gray too! Sheer hosiery is the only must have accompaniment to a cute gray dress.
- Add Bright Red for a statement flash of color to any dull outfit
- Tartan is the statement fabric this season. Any colour combos work just wear it with Highland Pride! Add a Westwood touch by adding punky pieces!
- Smart Chic - ditch the casual daywear and replace it with the new smart chic, think pencil skirts, structured jackets, chiffon blouses for a feminine touch (must be cinched at the waist) and add ladylike accessories such as stacked heels, long gloves and bangles. Tunics are definately the new shirts!
- Street-style is big this season. Think glammed-up parkas and biker jackets, even cashmere hoodies! Leather is the key fabric and layering is a must. Add some hardware to you inner city look such as studs, chains and rivets
- Decadant touches are everywhere. Think brocade, golden embroidery, rich fabrics and historical touches. Think 17th Century France - everything should be gold and so OTT!
- Fur trim is THE thing to keep you warm this Fall/ Winter. Either fake it or go natural - either way it totally HOT!
- Your winter woolies must be knitted chunky! Chunky knit sweaters, cardigans and coats are going to keep you warm. Think Fairisle, Aran and belted long-line cardigans. Hot combo is the chunky sweater and a silk dress - dressed down glamour at its most modern.
- Who would have thought the decade of the season would be the 1980's. Think neons and black think Aveline from Bread and Brenda from Watching! (remember those retro shows?! - Love It!)
- Cut it Boyish! Tailoring has a major masculine edge with slightly short trousers and tuxedo jackets. Keep it all skiny fit! If skinny is not your thing, then wide-leg trousers are the way to go
- The length of the season is Short. Skirts, dresses and jackets should skim your thighs this season. Add opaque tights for a more modern feel (and make you a little warmer!)
- The Cocoon is the shape of things to come. Think voluminous puffball skirts and round-shouldered coats. Wear with the highest of heels.
- Bags come in four must have categories - clutch, structured, oversized and exotic leather. Pick the one or all of the ones that suit your mood and outfit and do not be afraid of color!
- Boots are big this winter - wear them either detailed knee-high or as chunky ankle boots (from cone heels to stilettos)
- Shoes should have super high heels - push that 5 inch boundary! Platforms are also a hot retro way to go!
- Bold jewellery, waist-cinching belts, opera length gloves and beanie hats add finishing touches to you final outfit

So now you know what you should be wearing - go out and bloody get it before someone covets the looks you want! I'll be mostly shopping for the perfect square-heel, tunic and tailored overcoat. The bucket bag will also be top of my agenda and i'll be adding hot pink to almost every outfit!

New Obsession

My new obsession is BASQUES! I love them! They are so comfortable and great under tight tops. I only bought my first one a few days ago but I love them. They are so sexy but then again so demure (if that makes sense!?). I bought a corset recently (a fully lacing one) and found that really comfortable but not great for breast support (not that there is much to support!). I saw the basque in the store and thought that would be a great compromise - a cross between a bra and a corset. And they are even better and more comfortable than I had expected. They are my new hot thing! I recommend them to anyone!
This is definately going to be my new signature piece! Say Bye Bye to the Trilby, Hello to the Basque!

Shopping Again!

Went shopping again! I know I know I shouldn't but I'd like to see someone try and stop me! I didn't actually spend that much as the sales are still on but I spent enough! I bought these great espadrilles - I love them as they are quite nautical (love the nautical trend), a white basque and two DVD's - Sahara and The Notebook (love that film! and the book!). Thats it really as I didn't have much time left when I finished work. I must not spend any more money for a while!! XXxXX

Summer Sales

Went shopping yesturday with Lala and Li. Quite eventful trip really. The summer sales are raging on in nearly every store at the mall and entices everyone, including me, to spend their hard-earned cash. Well, its a great plan and it worked so well. I spent a tidy sum of money but I managed to snap up some great buys. What did I buy? Well:
- Pale spring green 'Miami' t-shirt
- Black spangly 'Beatles' t-shirt
- Baby pink knee-length denim shirts
- Pale green knee-length denim shorts (not pictured)
- 3 bras (1 black, one floral cream and one sheer cream and black one)
- Cream basque
I think that's it! Oh, no, some pink diamante and faux pearl antique-style drop earrings.
Loving the cover of August 2006's New Woman magazine. Dita Von Teese is the cover girl for this years Erotica Issue. She looks totally fab, but then again whats new!?

Love Me XxXXxXx

PS - You will all be pleased to know that Lala's finger is fully healed (she fractured it whilst trying to kill a spider - the spider won!) and she was discharged from hospital yesturday! Yay! No more hours to be spent wasted in hospital waiting rooms! X

I Passed!

Yay! Just checked my uni results and found out that I passed all modules except Philosophy! Yay! All psychology modules I passed and even that shitty elective criminal justice! I've got to retake philosophy but I don't think I actually need to pass it as its an elective! I didn't think i'd pass it anyway as I thought it was such a crock of shit and made absolutely no sense to me, but hey-ho. I'm going to pass it this time, hopefully!

Independance Day

Happy Independance Day y'all!
Have a great day! XxXX

The Formal Hottie!

Check me OUT! This is what I wore to the Formal on Friday with L. The picture was taken the day before (28th June - My Parents' wedding anniversary - 20 years and still strong! Congratulations!) so I haven't got the hair and make-up done at the time, but I had my hair poker-straight and wore subtle, shimmery make-up. I like this photo as it caught me off-guard so I look natural (I'm cracking up as the photographer was saying rude things to me!)
I had a nice time at the Formal and I thank L for taking me.
You've Gotta Love Me As Much As I Do!

Defeated Yet Again!

Well, what can I actually say about Sunday? I worked, I played, and I lost! Actually it was WE lost - Lala and I. The two of us joined forces to beat Li at pool - a feat that we are still hoping to achieve before the year is over! - and together we still lost. Granted it wasn't all her skillful playing. Lala deciding at the start of two games that the black was nice and shiny, caught her eye and sent it into the pocket - shame we had only just stared the game! So we lost. AGAIN! Oh well, it was only 5-1 (we actually did win one - though not because we were any good but by default)! Better luck for me/us next time!

Upside to the crap playing from Sunday, yesturday night I beat Nate, 2-0. He is now refusing to play me ever again! Nevermind!!
