Workin' It!
I cannot wait for this week to be over! I feel like i'm working constantly these days but can't complain as it means money in my purse to go and buy shoes! (Thats a point! I still have to find my shoes to go with my dress for next friday! I'm thinking silver!). This week I am working more than I ever have and its getting me pretty beat! Nevermind, there is tons of time to catch up on much needed beauty sleep next week!
So what else have I been up to? Well, last wednesday I spent nearly 4 hours in accident and emergency with La who had decided to smash her finger to pieces trying to eliminate a spider (sadly, it won!). Luckily she only fractured it, and though it is varying shades of blue, green and purple, its not that bad. She will recover in a couple more weeks and her follow-up is tomorrow, so back up to the hospital I go! But the afternoon will be spent doing some much needed retail therapy and if I don't come back with shoes for next friday I will scream!
The Sunday Dinner group was reduced to only two of us this week as it was Fathers Day here in the UK but La and I had a great time. We had a fabulous dinner then hit the pool tables for a few practice games before we face Li and C next sunday! We do not need to be ripped apart again! Drinks were consumed and a merry time was had by all!
Working like a bad ass hasn't killed my need to read, as I have finished Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt (I know its just a kids book but I saw the film recently with the chick from the Gilmore Girls in, and it was brilliant, so had to follow up with the book), Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (just got round to reading the book that I queued up for when it came out last year and could not put it down from start to finish. It was bloody brilliant and it took me just 3 days to read - not long when you consider I was working and travelling for about 8 hours of the day!) and just the other day I finished Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly (the latest book by one of my favorite writers is definately one you should not miss and possibly the best he's even written. Full of beautiful imagery, fast-paced action and steeped in thousands of years of history, this was a truly magnificant book). I'm currently flitting between reads, as I'm not sure what is calling to me yet!
Speaking of literature of the finest quality, just lent La 'The Notebook' by Nicholas Sparks. So far she's loving it and when I see her tomorrow I hope that she has finished it and loves it as much as I did. Now all she's got to do is watch the film!
I'm having a bit of a lazy day today as I don't start work til late coz i'm doing the late tonight. Just going to relax and pamper myself I think. Hopefully next tuesday a small group of us fabulous people will be hitting the beach again for sun, sea, gossip and fine dining. Can't wait!
Well I'm going to get ready for work later, hope y'all are having a fabulous day!
Luv Me XXxXxx
