Spending The Day With Jane Austen And A Damp Colin Firth
Hey y'all, I've cheered up a bit since yesturday which is always good, though things are pretty much the same. I've had a most relaxing day just lounging on the sofa with my sister. We spent the whole day glued to the television as we were watching Pride and Prejudice (1995). It took 7 hours to watch from start to finish! I didn't realise just how long it actually was as you usually see it in segments! I love a good period drama and this has got to be one of my faves. I read the book way back at school and quite enjoyed it - but there isn't a Jane Austen novel that I don't like! I just love it when Colin Firth comes out of the lake (something that didn't appear in the book - Andrew Davies wrote that scene into the screenplay - Two great minds put together in my opinion!) and he's all damp. Very attractive! Why do men not dress like that these days? They'd be way more irresistable than when they're clad in jeans and t-shirts emblazoned with something rude!
I'm in a period drama mood now, so I might have to go and dig out Sense and Sensibility or something to satisfy my craving. I love the book and the film (especially as it has Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman in it - both major hotties!). Gotta love you and leave you, TTFN.
