Pure Inspiration

Congratulations to all those who took part in this years Flora London Marathon. 34,000 runners took to to the streets of London to cover the 26.3 mile course today whilst raising a total of approx 34 million pounds for various charities between them. Amongst them the gorgeous chef Gordon Ramsey (his 7th London marathon - he's going for ten in a row so I'm looking forward to following his progress for the next 3 years - and possibly more!), GMTV's Andrew Castle and the Loveable Essex Nutter, Jade Goody (who admitted to only doing 2 half hour treadmill sessions and a bit of walking in preparation!). All those who completed todays course in the rain (the sunshine is no more!) are truly inspirational and show the Best of British. There is always such support for this great event, which attracts more and more participants every year, and it just goes to show how many determined, strong-minded and generous people there are in England - people that usually get eclispsed are celebrated more than ever on this fabulous day.
Congratulations to Felix Limo and Deena Kastor who won the men and women's elite races. GBR's David Weir showed paralympic power by coming 1st in the men's wheelchair elite.
Congratulations to all who participated, you epitomise the saying 'People Power'!
